Abstract An attempt has been made to make a comprehensive survey of China's timber complex. China's endowment with timber resources has been analyzed. Production and consumption of timber products is considered. Markets and trade in timber products are described, special attention being given to China's foreign trade in timber products, in particular to expanding timber exports. China's influence on East Asian and other regions' timber complexes is shown, which largely has a negative character. Development prospects for China's timber complex up to 2010 and further are studied
