Abstract The assessment concerning degree of readiness for monetary integration using international trade intensity relationship criterion was based on the comparative analysis of ASEAN+3 and EU economies during 1990—2009. Export share in GDP and bilateral trade intensity ratio evolution is considered for the purpose of research. Obtained facts give rise to the important conclusion that some of the ASEAN+3 countries are ready to create regional currency zone according to the criterion chosen
