Abstract The paper analyzes the part of Bezobrazov’s scientific heritage which is directly relevant to the research of economic problems of regions with different taxonomic level. Although most of Bezobrazov’s studies are strictly applied the author considers V.P. Bezobrazov as one of the founders of the Russian school of Spatial Economics due to scientific ideas and hypotheses as well as analytical tools which are contained in his works.
